Final Statement of the Jury Of The 21st Cairo International Festival For Experimental Theater 2009
The Jury of the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre was composed as follows: The International Jury watched during the period from the 10st to the 20th of October 2009 a number of performances that amounted to (26) presented by various groups representing (21) countries taking part in the official contest of the festival.
In (6) meeting, the jury discussed extensively the performances participating in the official contest, It voted in the final meeting on the nominees for each of the Six awards and it is now my pleasure, on behalf of all the jury members, to announce the winners of the awards as well as the nominees:
Award for best performance
For this award, the jury nominated the following performances:
- Macbeth presented by Jaranda project-south korea - Echo presented by National Acting Group-Iraq

Award for best Directing For this award, the jury nominated the following:
- Duda Paiva Director of Façade presented by Bialostocki Teatr Lalek - Poland - Osama Halal Director of Don Quixote presented by Koon Theater Group-Syria

Award for best Actress
For this award, the jury nominated the following:
- Juliette FB. Bangouva for her role in Targuiya presented by Arenk Theratre de Guine- Guine Conakry
- Boshra Ismail for her role in Echo presented by National Acting Group-Iraq

Award for best Actor For this award, the jury nominated the following:
- Mohamed Fahim for his role in I am Hamlet Presented by Artistic Creativity Center-Cultural Development Fund-Egypt
- Dr. Maamoun El Khaldi for his role in The Shadows presented by Workshop of The On-going Rehearsal-Iraq
The award goes to:

Award for best Scenography
For this award, the jury nominated the following:

The jury would like to thank the group of interpreters who exerted so much effort so that the task of the jury would be accomplished effectively.
And finally the jury salutes all the performing groups and thanks them for all the enthusiasm, energy and courage which they showed us in the festival. It also thanks the administration. May it be strengthened and encouraged by the growing success of this event which also serves to promote mutual understanding, respect and creativity among the nations of the world.
