The 13th Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre CIFET

started on Saturday September 1st 2001. The opening ceremony directed by Khaled Galal was held in Cairo Opera House’s main hall. The inaugural performance was the Hungarian “Romeo and Juliet” by the Atlantis troupe . The Cultural Development Fund CDF is the festival’s press center and is incharge of organizing the opening and the ending ceremonies.

The Press Conference For Experimental Theatre

Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni had held a press conference on Wednesday morning in the Seminars Hall at the Supreme Council of Culture to announce the final preparations for the 13th CIFET that started on Saturday September 1st for a duration of a 10-day term. The conference had been attended by Dr.Fawzi Fahmi head of the festival, members of  the  high committee of the festival and heads of  the participating delegations.

46 countries around the world  (14 Arab countries and 32 Foreign countries) participate in the 13th CIFET

The Experimental” daily of CIFET 2001

The CDF (the press center) issues a daily trilingual publication “The Experimental” (Arabic, English, French). “The Experimental” covers the events of the festival and is a daily guide to the festival’s offerings.
